About the Internship:
This internship provides high school students with hands-on experience in the pet care industry, focusing on grooming services. Interns will learn how to safely handle animals, assist with grooming tasks, and support daily operations in a professional pet salon environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with bathing, brushing, drying, and basic grooming tasks under supervision.

Learn safe handling and care techniques for dogs, cats, and other small animals.

Help maintain a clean and organized grooming area.

Support staff with scheduling, customer check-in, and preparation for grooming appointments.

Observe professional groomers and learn techniques for styling, nail trimming, and coat care.

Provide animals with comfort and care throughout the grooming process.

Complete assignments, reflection journals, or internship workbook entries as required by the program

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
