About the Internship:
This internship provides high school students with hands-on experience in horticulture, focusing on the science and art of growing plants. Interns will assist professionals in plant care, garden design, and greenhouse operations while learning sustainable growing practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with planting, watering, pruning, and maintaining flowers, shrubs, and trees.

Support greenhouse operations, including transplanting and propagation.

Monitor plant health and report any signs of pests or disease.

Help maintain landscapes, gardens, or public green spaces.

Participate in soil preparation, composting, and fertilization activities.

Learn and apply sustainable horticultural practices.

Complete assignments, reflection journals, or internship workbook entries as required by the program

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
