Dietician Intern
Position Summary:
This internship introduces high school students to the field of dietetics and nutrition. Interns will explore how dietitians help individuals and communities make healthy food choices, manage special diets, and promote overall wellness. Students will observe professionals in action and gain foundational skills in health, communication, and nutrition science.
Responsibilities:

Observe dietitians during client consultations, educational sessions, or food service planning.

Assist with nutrition-related projects such as creating meal plans, handouts, or wellness resources.

Participate in health promotion activities (e.g., nutrition workshops, community events).

Conduct basic research on nutrition topics under supervision.

Learn about food safety, dietary guidelines, and special nutrition needs.

Complete assignments, reflection journals, or internship workbook entries as required by the program

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
