Automotive Sales Intern

Overview:
This internship introduces high school students to the world of automotive sales. Interns will observe and assist sales staff as they work with customers, learn about vehicles, and manage the sales process. The experience provides insight into customer service, sales techniques, and the business side of the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

·         Shadow sales representatives during customer interactions and dealership operations

·         Learn about vehicle features, financing options, and sales strategies

·         Assist with non-sales tasks such as organizing marketing materials, maintaining the showroom, or updating vehicle information

·         Observe how sales staff communicate with customers and build relationships

·         Support administrative tasks such as filing, preparing documents, or scheduling appointments

·         Gain exposure to teamwork, customer service, and professional communication in a business environment

   ·         Completing assignments, reflection journals, or internship workbook entries as required by the program

Learning Outcomes:

·         Understand the role of sales staff in the automotive industry

·         Learn about vehicle features, financing, and dealership operations

·         Gain awareness of professional communication, customer service, and ethical sales practices

·         Develop observation, organizational, and interpersonal skills

·         Explore career and educational pathways in sales, marketing, or the automotive industry

Additional Information:

·         Interns will primarily observe and assist with support tasks; they will not complete independent sales transactions

·         Compliance with dress code, confidentiality, and workplace policies is required

·         Some placements may involve weekend or evening hours to accommodate dealership schedules

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
