Overview:
This internship introduces high school students to aviation operations and the daily activities that keep airports and airlines running smoothly. Interns will observe aviation staff as they coordinate flights, manage safety procedures, and ensure efficient operations. The experience provides insight into aviation management, safety protocols, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
· Shadow aviation operations staff during daily tasks, meetings, and flight coordination
· Observe safety checks, scheduling, and communication between departments such as air traffic control, ground crew, and pilots
· Assist with non-technical tasks such as organizing records, updating logs, or preparing operational materials
· Learn about airport security, regulations, and operational procedures
· Gain exposure to customer service, teamwork, and professional communication in aviation settings
· Completing assignments, reflection journals, or internship workbook entries as required by the program

· Interns will primarily observe and assist with support tasks; they will not perform flight or safety-critical duties

· Some placements may require background checks, security clearance, or orientation before starting

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
