Counselor Intern – Camp
Overview:
As a Camp Counselor Intern, students will assist in providing a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children participating in day camp programs. Interns will work alongside experienced camp staff to plan and lead activities, support group management, and build skills in communication, leadership, and teamwork. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience for students interested in careers in education, recreation, youth development, or human services.
Responsibilities May Include:
· Assist with planning, organizing, and leading age-appropriate recreational, educational, and creative activities.
· Supervise and engage with campers to ensure their safety, participation, and enjoyment.
· Support camp staff and maintain a positive and inclusive camp environment.
· Help with setup, cleanup, and daily organization of program materials and spaces.
· Model positive behavior, teamwork, and respect for others.
· Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and youth participants.
· Completing assignments, reflection journals, or internship workbook entries as required by the program.
