Position Title: Chiropractic Observation
Placement Term: Fall or Spring
Work Location: 410 W. 3rd St., Carroll, IA 51401
Work Schedule: Schedule is dependent upon the student's school schedule and will be coordinated with and communicated to the host organization.
Position Overview
The Chiropractic Healthcare Job Shadow provides students with the opportunity to observe the daily operations of a chiropractic practice. Students will gain exposure to patient care, office management, clinical documentation, and the business aspects of operating a healthcare practice while learning about careers in chiropractic care and healthcare services.
Duties and Projects
The intern may be involved in the following activities and projects:
- Observe patient care involving individuals of various ages, from infants to older adults.
- Shadow a chiropractor to learn about assessment, treatment, and patient interactions.
- Observe front desk operations and office management procedures.
- Learn about appointment scheduling, patient communication, and customer service.
- Observe clinical note-taking and documentation processes.
- Participate in workplace observations and discussions related to healthcare careers.
- Assist with observational or administrative activities as appropriate and permitted.
