Internship Position
Position Title: Radiology Student Intern
Placement Term: Spring
Work Location: St. Anthony Imaging Services Unit
Work Schedule: Schedule is dependent upon the student's school schedule and will be coordinated with and communicated to the host organization.
Position Overview
The Radiology Student Intern will gain hands-on exposure to diagnostic imaging services in a healthcare setting. Students will observe radiology professionals, learn about patient care processes, and gain insight into imaging careers while supporting the daily operations of the Imaging Services department.
Duties and Projects
The intern may be involved in the following activities and projects:
- Shadow radiology technologists and other imaging professionals during daily operations.
- Assist with patient check-ins and customer service activities.
- Help prepare imaging rooms and assist with room turnover between patients.
- Observe patient care and imaging procedures.
- Provide general support to technologists and department staff.
- Participate in team discussions and workplace learning opportunities.
- Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Dress Code
The intern is expected to follow the organization's dress code requirements.
Attire expectations for this position: Scrubs and closed-toe shoes are required.
Physical Requirements
The intern should be prepared to perform the following physical activities as required by the position:
- Standing for extended periods.
- Walking throughout the workday.
- Sitting as needed during patient care and administrative activities.
- Frequently stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
- Using hands to handle equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Maintaining visual focus for patient care and imaging-related activities.
- Working in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases and occupational hazards.
- Managing the physical and emotional demands associated with a healthcare setting.
