Accounting/Clerical Intern

Industries We Serve - Agriculture, Construction Equipment, Lawn & Garden, Floor Cleaning Equipment, Medical Equipment, Vehicles, Safety and other.

Essential Functions:

  •         Assist Controller and Accountants to perform a wide variety of tasks. 
  •         Data/order entry into computer.
  •         Filing of Accounting documents.
  •         Reconcile various accounting documents and data, confirm their accuracy.
  •         Help coordinate customer purchase orders, supplier billings (accounts payable) and Centro invoices (accounts receivable) and other related documents and processes.
  •         Will interface with other departments/divisions to exchange information.
  •         Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image.  Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Skills/Knowledge:  Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in applied math, accurate with numbers and reconciling data.  Must be detail-oriented.
  • General understanding of principles of bookkeeping and accounting highly preferred.
  • Experience with computers and accounting software (MS Excel or other spreadsheet) preferred.
  • Able to use basic office equipment including telephone, copier, fax, computer.
  • Prompt and dependable, takes pride and ownership in work.  Must be a self-starter, team player and able to perform routine tasks without being prompted.
  • Must be a high school student in good standing.  Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible. Ability to follow instructions.  Professional and trustworthy conduct is required.  Must be courteous and respectful. 
  • Business casual attire.

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE Staff or SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED  WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
